The 'Wedlock'

Here I am, bidding adieu to 2014 by celebrating the wedlocks of many. The wedding season has begun to unite two 'made for one another' souls for lifetime.
I have no clue who invented the concept of marriage but whosoever did, in my opinion is creditable. However, opinions differ!

I know many of us will agree to the fact that the idea of marriage is over-rated in the Indian Society. This is something that comes with the 'age' of an individual and not by the choice or situations. The society decides when a boy or a girl is ready to tie the holy knot. The traditions have been ongoing and makes it difficult for today's generation to digest this fact but this is how the society acts.

I belong to today's generation and am a strong believer of true love and marriage. I adore one of the song's lyrics which reads 'life is a game made for everyone and love is the prize!' Those who are in love, are fortunate.
Marriage, on the other hand is an art; the pleasure of mind, body and soul. It brings two unalike beings to share happiness, virtue, adversities, strengths- basically Life! A bond that recreates the inner and the outerself.

Although, not everyone appreciates art. We have been observing people who still are of the typical mindset wherein once the couple unites, the man earns money to support the family, the female takes charge of the house and housemates, raises the child and that's about it! The jobs of men and women are pre-assumed and remain that way.
It is very pitiful how people take marriage as a responsibilty and not as an opportunity. An opportunity to explore the world together, a chance to support each other equally- emotionally, financially, an occasion to live the most awaited and amazing moments together and so much more.

Its high time for people to understand that 2 is bigger and better than 1. A man and a woman together can make a family. One who earns is burdened , whereas the case isn't the same if both earn. The two must taste all the aspects of family life, for example trying hands in household chores, raising children, contributing to the family business, taking care of their parents, etc. To summarize, one person should not be dependent on the better half for a particular thing; which defines to each his own!

You can only cheers to life if you have another glass waiting to raise a toast ! Think two! High 5 :)
